Does the Equinox EV Have Apple CarPlay?
Short answer: no — and here is what it has instead, because it matters more than you'd expect on an EV.
The Chevrolet Equinox EV does not support Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Instead, Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play run natively on the 17.7-inch display without your phone connected at all. We say this up front because it catches people out.
Built-in Google Maps knows the car's actual state of charge. Enter a destination and it plans the charging stops for you, factoring in real battery level rather than guessing. Phone-mirrored navigation cannot do that. On a Miami-to-Key West run, that is the difference between planning and hoping.
Bluetooth audio and hands-free calling connect the way they do in any car, so Spotify, Apple Music, podcasts and calls all come through the speakers. There is wireless phone charging in the console and USB ports throughout. What you lose is the mirrored phone interface, not the functions.

Before You Book — Requirements, Mileage & Cancellation
The things worth knowing before you pay, in plain language. Everything here comes from our Terms & Conditions, which govern in full.
👤 Who can rent
- Minimum age 21, with at least 2 years of driving experience. Renters aged 21–24 may be subject to a young driver surcharge — call us for the exact amount before booking.
- Valid, unexpired driver's license held throughout the rental period.
- Identity verified before delivery — license, date of birth and a live photo.
- The payment card must be one you are legally authorized to use. If it belongs to someone else, both of you are jointly liable for charges.
- Additional drivers ($25) must be approved by us in writing before the rental.
Out-of-state and international licenses are accepted at our discretion — call (786) 981-1177 to confirm before you book.
🚗 Mileage & where you can drive
- Every rental includes 300 miles per day. Miles beyond that are billed at the per-mile rate shown at booking.
- Unlimited mileage is a flat $59 per rental, but it must be added at booking — it cannot be added once the rental starts.
- The vehicle must stay within Florida. Driving out of state without prior written approval voids all coverage.
- Operation in Mexico is prohibited under all circumstances.
From Miami: Key West and back is roughly 330 miles total, Orlando about 235 miles each way, and Fort Lauderdale about 30 miles. With 319 miles of range and a 300-mile daily allowance, the Equinox EV covers almost every South Florida trip.
⚡ Returning the vehicle
- Return with the battery at or above the level delivered (minimum 80%). Below 80% is a $35 fee; below 20% is $60.
- Rather not stop to charge before drop-off? Add Prepaid EV recharge for $40 and pay the return charge up front — just leave at least 30 miles of range.
- You cover your own charging during the rental.
- All keys, cables, the NACS adapter and accessories must come back with the car.
Every vehicle is 100% non-smoking and non-vaping, including cannabis and e-cigarettes. A flat $400 fee applies to any evidence of smoking, with no exceptions.
🛠️ Damage, deposit & if something goes wrong
- A $250 pre-authorization hold — not a charge — is placed at booking or delivery and released 3–7 business days after return if no incidentals.
- We photograph the car at delivery and at pickup, and you get copies of both.
- New damage is claimed through whichever protection you chose — your own policy (your deductible applies) or Bonzah (their terms apply).
- Normal road grime is expected and never charged. Smoking is not — see the fee table below.
