Required on every Amped Auto Rentals rental. Print it, complete it by hand, sign it, and send it back before your vehicle is delivered. Someone other than the driver can pay — most rental companies will not allow that.
Short answer: Yes. Amped Auto Rentals accepts payment from a person or company who is not the driver. Every Amped Auto Rentals rental requires a completed Credit Card Authorization Form — whoever is paying. Where the cardholder is not the driver, the form also names the driver, and both parties are responsible for all charges.

Can someone else pay for my rental car?
Yes. Amped Auto Rentals allows a parent, spouse, friend, employer or company to pay for a rental they are not driving. Every rental requires a signed Credit Card Authorization Form; where the cardholder is not the driver, the form names the driver and both parties become jointly responsible for the charges.
This is not the industry norm. Hertz, Enterprise, Avis, Budget and Alamo generally require the driver to present a credit card in their own name at the counter, and typically will not accept a third-party authorization letter. Amped Auto Rentals is delivery-only, so there is no counter — the same verification simply happens in advance, in writing.
The driver still has to qualify on their own. They must be at least 21, hold a valid unexpired licence, and complete identity verification before the vehicle is released. Paying for the rental does not waive any driver requirement.
Can I rent a car with someone else's credit card in Florida?
With most Florida rental companies, no — the card usually has to be in the renter's own name at pickup. With Amped Auto Rentals, yes. The cardholder must complete and hand-sign a Credit Card Authorization Form, attach a copy of their photo ID and a redacted copy of the card, and return it before the vehicle is delivered.
There is no universal third-party authorization form across Florida rental suppliers, which is why so many renters are turned away at the desk. Amped Auto Rentals publishes its own form so the requirements are known before you book rather than discovered on arrival.
What is a car rental credit card authorization form?
A credit card authorization form is a signed document in which a cardholder authorises a rental company to charge their card for a rental they are not driving. It identifies the cardholder, identifies the driver, states which charges are authorised, and carries the handwritten signature of both.
The Amped Auto Rentals form collects the cardholder's legal name, home address, the billing address of the card, the last four digits of the card, and — where the driver is a different person — that driver's name, date of birth and licence details. Ten separate acknowledgements are initialled individually, covering authority to use the card, post-rental charges, the security deposit, and the dispute procedure.
Can my company pay for an employee's rental car?
Yes. A company can pay for an Amped Auto Rentals rental for an employee, contractor or guest. An authorised signer completes the Credit Card Authorization Form on the company's behalf, names the driver, and accepts responsibility for the rental charges and any incidentals incurred during the rental.

Do I need to send a copy of my credit card to rent a car?
Amped Auto Rentals requires a copy of the front of the card with every digit except the last four blacked out, and the back with the security code blacked out. Never send a full card number or security code to any rental company. Payment card industry rules prohibit merchants from storing security codes in any form.
The purpose of the card copy is to show the cardholder physically holds the card and that the name matches their identity document. That is fully established by a redacted copy. If a copy arrives showing a full number or a security code, Amped Auto Rentals destroys it and requests a compliant one.
Who is responsible if someone else pays for my rental?
Both parties. Under the Amped Auto Rentals rental agreement, the cardholder and the driver are jointly and severally liable for every charge arising from the reservation — the rental itself, the security deposit, tolls, traffic citations, charging fees, mileage overages, cleaning and any damage.
Joint and several liability means Amped Auto Rentals can pursue either party, or both, for the full amount owed. It is not split between them. Anyone signing the form as a cardholder for another driver should understand they are accepting responsibility for how that person uses the vehicle. How do I submit the credit card authorization form?
Email the completed, hand-signed form and its attachments to [email protected], or hand it to the Amped Auto Rentals delivery driver at handover. The form must be printed and signed by hand — typed, digitally filled or electronically signed forms are not accepted.
- Download and print the form. It runs to three pages. You need a printer and a pen — this is deliberate.
- Complete every field by hand. The cardholder fills in Sections 1 to 4, and Section 5 if the cardholder is not the driver. Section 9, Key Rental Terms, is initialled and signed by whoever will drive the vehicle.
- Initial all ten acknowledgements. A form with any box left blank is returned.
- Attach the documents. Redacted card copy, front and back of the cardholder's unexpired licence or passport photo page, and the driver's licence if a different person.
- Sign in ink and send it. Email to [email protected] at least 24 hours before delivery, or hand it to the driver at the vehicle.
How far in advance does the form need to be sent?
At least 24 hours before the scheduled delivery time. Amped Auto Rentals does not release a vehicle until the form and all attachments have been received and verified. Forms handed to the driver at delivery are accepted, but the driver cannot release the vehicle until the paperwork is complete and checked.

Why does Amped Auto Rentals require this form when other companies don't?
Because Amped Auto Rentals is delivery-only. There is no counter at which a card and an ID can be checked face to face, so the same verification is completed in advance in writing. Florida Statute §322.38(4) expressly contemplates advance verification for contactless rentals.
Florida Statute §322.38 requires a rental company to inspect the driver licence, confirm it is unexpired, and keep a record of the renter's name and address, the licence number and where it was issued. Those records are open to inspection by law enforcement. A delivery company has to satisfy that obligation before the car leaves, not when it arrives.
The form also protects the person paying. A documented authorization means a cardholder cannot be charged for a rental they never agreed to fund — and it means Amped Auto Rentals can decline anyone who will not put their authority in writing.
What happens if someone uses a stolen or unauthorized credit card to rent a car?
In Florida, using a credit card without the cardholder's consent to obtain goods or services is a crime under Florida Statute §817.61. Where the value obtained in any six-month period is $100 or more, it is a third-degree felony punishable by up to five years in prison, five years of probation and a $5,000 fine.
Amped Auto Rentals treats every vehicle release as a documented transaction, and states plainly what happens when the documentation turns out to be false. This section is not a warning shot. It is a description of the process that follows.
What Amped Auto Rentals holds on every rental
Before a vehicle leaves, Amped Auto Rentals already holds a permanent record of who took it:
- Biometric identity verification through Vouched — a live selfie matched against a government-issued photo ID, with a numerical face-match confidence score, the submitting IP address, the device and browser used, and a timestamp.
- Statutory driver records kept under Florida Statute §322.38(3) — the renter's name and address, driver licence number and place of issue, and the vehicle registration. These records are open to inspection by any police officer and by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles.
- The signed Credit Card Authorization Form, with the cardholder's handwritten signature, initials against ten separate acknowledgements, and copies of the identity documents supplied.
- Vehicle telematics — GPS coordinates, timestamps, odometer and battery logs and operation records, which under Section 3 of the rental agreement are authoritative evidence of delivery, operation and return.
- The complete message record — every SMS, email and call log exchanged with the renter, timestamped.
Chargebacks on delivered rentals
Filing a payment dispute claiming "fraud" or "no knowledge of this charge" on a rental where identity was verified, an agreement was signed, and a vehicle was delivered and driven is, under Section 6(a) of the rental agreement, a materially false representation. Section 10(c) requires any billing concern to be raised with Amped Auto Rentals first, with five business days to resolve it, before any dispute is filed.
A chargeback does not cancel the debt. Under Section 10(d), Amped Auto Rentals may pursue the amount owed through civil action in Miami-Dade County, referral to a collections agency with credit bureau reporting, and recovery of administrative costs, collection costs and attorney's fees. Florida civil theft — treble damages
Florida Statute §772.11 gives a business a civil cause of action for three times its actual damages, plus reasonable attorney's fees and court costs, against a person who obtains its property by theft. The statute requires a written demand first; if the demand is paid within 30 days, the person receives a written release from further civil liability.
The 30-day window is real and it is the cheapest exit available. Amped Auto Rentals would rather be paid than litigate.
False documents and unreturned vehicles
Submitting a forged or altered authorization form, or an identity document belonging to another person, is a separate offence under Florida's forgery and identification statutes, and is referred with the full evidence file. Where a vehicle is not returned, Florida Statute §817.52(3) makes abandoning or wilfully refusing to redeliver a hired motor vehicle, with intent to defraud, a third-degree felony, and Florida Statute §812.155 sets out the written-demand procedure that establishes prima facie evidence of refusal to redeliver.
Amped Auto Rentals does not prosecute anyone — that is a decision for the State. What Amped Auto Rentals does is file a complete, timestamped, documented report with the Miami-Dade Police Department and cooperate fully with the State Attorney's Office and with the affected cardholder's issuing bank.
Is the form required for every rental?
Yes. Amped Auto Rentals requires a completed Credit Card Authorization Form on every rental, without exception, whether or not the cardholder is the driver. No vehicle is released until the form and its attachments have been received and verified. What changes between situations is which sections must be completed.

There is no shortcut and no exception for repeat renters, short rentals, or last-minute bookings. A rental cannot be released on a promise to send the form later.
What else do I need to rent from Amped Auto Rentals?
Every Amped Auto Rentals driver must be at least 21, have held a licence for two years, pass identity verification, and carry comprehensive and collision coverage — either through their own policy or through protection purchased at checkout. A $250 refundable hold is placed at booking or delivery.
