Most rental agencies at Miami International Airport operate from the Rental Car Center, reached by the MIA Mover from the terminals. Amped has no counter there: you share your airline and arrival time when you book, the car is parked in the garage that serves your concourse, and you walk from baggage claim to the assigned space and drive out.

Our rental policy requires every rental to carry comprehensive and collision coverage, and we cannot release a vehicle without it. Florida law separately requires liability and personal injury protection coverage. You choose where that coverage comes from.
If your personal auto policy carries comprehensive and collision and extends to rental vehicles, it acts as primary coverage for the whole rental. Nothing extra to buy.

No. The Greater Miami Expressway Agency roads — the Dolphin (SR-836), Airport Expressway (SR-112), Don Shula (SR-874), Snapper Creek (SR-878) and Gratigny Parkway (SR-924) — are all-electronic, as are the I-95 express lanes. There is no booth and no cash option anywhere on them.
Florida’s gantries photograph the plate and bill the registered owner under Toll-by-Plate at a higher rate than SunPass; in a rental that invoice reaches the rental company. Amped vehicles carry a transponder, so this does not apply to an Amped rental.
Tolled: Florida’s Turnpike and the Homestead Extension, SR-836, SR-112, SR-874, SR-878, SR-924, the I-95 and Palmetto express lanes, the Rickenbacker Causeway and the Venetian Causeway. Not tolled: the MacArthur and Julia Tuttle Causeways — the two routes most visitors take to Miami Beach — plus US-1, Biscayne Boulevard and the regular lanes of I-95.
Neither is better for every trip. An electric rental (Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model Y or Chevrolet Equinox EV) suits itineraries with reliable charging access, such as local driving across Miami-Dade and Broward; a gasoline rental (Nissan Rogue SV or Nissan Pathfinder SV) suits renters who prefer refueling, need eight seats, or plan long days without a charging stop. Decide on daily mileage, charging availability along your route, passenger and cargo needs, and whether you want to manage charging at all.

Tesla rentals stay on Amped’s Tesla account, so a Tesla Supercharger recognises the car and bills the session through Amped, and the charge is reconciled with you after the rental; Supercharging is not free. The Chevrolet Equinox EV charges at CCS fast chargers and Level 2 sites with your own payment method, and at Tesla sites that Tesla lists as open to non-Tesla EVs using the supplied GM NACS adapter. Whether renting a car makes sense depends on where you are staying, how many destinations you plan to visit and whether those destinations are convenient to reach using transit or rideshare. Miami-Dade’s attractions are spread across the county, from Aventura and Miami Gardens in the north to Coral Gables, Kendall and Homestead in the south, so a rental is most useful for dispersed itineraries and trips beyond the urban core.
I-95 runs north–south through Downtown Miami and Brickell, the Dolphin Expressway (SR 836) links MIA to downtown and Miami Beach, the Palmetto Expressway (SR 826) loops the west side past Doral, and Florida’s Turnpike reaches Miami Gardens in the north and Homestead in the south. Parking in Miami Beach, Downtown, Brickell and Wynwood is mostly paid garages and metered streets; the MacArthur and Julia Tuttle causeways to Miami Beach are free, while the Rickenbacker Causeway to Key Biscayne is tolled. Miami-Dade County Code §8A-1.1 requires rental car companies operating in the county to make child restraints available, disclose toll processing and cost, provide visitor information and safety tips, provide vehicles with adequate fuel, and not identify a vehicle as a rental with signage. The county requires a visitor information map and safety tips meeting Miami-Dade standards. Because Amped Auto Rentals operates no traditional rental counter or rental facility, this material is sent electronically with your Booking Confirmation and again at delivery. The delivery and collection charge is based on rental length, not on the return location, and any separately quoted arrangement for a location outside the service area is confirmed in advance. The vehicle must remain within Florida.
