Getting In and Out of Hard Rock Stadium: Tips From Miami Gardens Locals
We're based in Miami Gardens and work around Hard Rock Stadium event days. Here's what we see every time.
Leaving Hard Rock Stadium After the Event
After big events, crowds of fans walk west along NW 199th Street toward NW 32nd Avenue, where the official rideshare lot is (Lot 44 at the Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex, an estimated 30-minute walk from the stadium, per Hard Rock Stadium), and along NW 27th Avenue toward NW 183rd and NW 215th Streets, phones out, trying to find a ride. With a game-day ride, you skip that: your driver is scheduled for your pickup.
Event-Day Road Closures and Parking
During major event weekends, including past F1 Miami Grand Prix race weekends, eastbound traffic on NW 199th Street has been blocked where event operations cross it, and closures can change from year to year. Nearby store lots are not an option either: on event days, part of the Walmart Supercenter lot at 19501 NW 27th Avenue is used for paid event parking, and vehicles parked there without a valid event pass can be towed at the owner's expense. We plan drop-off and pickup around the official event traffic plan.
Other Ways to Get to Hard Rock Stadium
A private ride isn't the only option, and for some fans it isn't the best one. The stadium's free GEICO HRS Express shuttle runs to Lot 70 (across from the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel) and Lot 95 (Golden Glades Parking Garage), starting three hours before kickoff and running 75 minutes after the game; parking at those lots requires a pass. Brightline runs event trains to its Aventura station with complimentary shuttles to the stadium, and rideshare drop-off and pickup is in Lot 44 on NW 199th Street. Options and locations change by event, so check Hard Rock Stadium's official site before you go. A private ride makes the most sense when you want door-to-door service for your group, a scheduled pickup when you're ready to leave, and no parking or shuttle lines.
